Helping TIMA grow: Each One, Reach One

Upfront confession: I’m a bit of a TIMA newbie.  I’ve been a member for just over a year now, and I’ve been to just a few events during that time.  But, even with my somewhat-limited exposure, I’ve learned a great deal and met a ton of interesting people through TIMA.  That why when 2011 wound down, I made a year-end resolution  -- who says resolutions need to wait until the new year -- to be more involved with the organization.  So, I’m excited to serve as the 2012 membership development chair.Looking back, TIMA had a great year in 2011, and that’s completely due to how vibrant our community is.  We on the TIMA executive board are super thankful for our membership, our sponsors and all the folks who come to TIMA events throughout the year.  That said, we’re trying to grow in 2012, and we’d like to ask for your help. Want a free lunch?  Through the end of January we are offering a membership promo called “Each One, Reach One.”  The premise of this campaign is that YOU are in the best position to tell your friends, peers and colleagues why you’re a TIMA member.  So, we’re asking for your help by encouraging each of our members to help add one peer or colleague to our ranks.   We’re even willing to reward you with free entry to any monthly TIMA lunches (prior to June) for helping get someone signed up. Here’s what you need to do, in three easy steps: Step one: talk to your peers and colleagues about TIMA.  Step two: have your willing friend complete the TIMA membership form and payment.Step three:  tell me that you convinced them to join.I’ll add you to the list of folks who earned a free lunch.  Then when it comes time to register for the lunch event of your choosing (remember it has to be used before June), just email me again to let me know you want to cash it in.I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can, and I’ll be trying to staff the check-in table at many upcoming TIMA events.  So, please say hello!Gary Alan Miller (@garyalanmiller)

There is lots of talk of social media being the next big thing in business, but people need to learn how to harness this new marketing resource.
