April Lunch & Learn featuring panel on “The use of Digital Media to benefit Non-Profit Organizations.”

In this economy, fundraising is critical for non-profit organizations as the needs are greater and funding has been significantly impacted.  SONC realized that the organization needed to expand their traditional fundraising efforts to include online marketing and online donor engagement in late 2009.  Partnered with Media Two Interactive acting as their pro bono agency, SONC has focused on a new social media strategy with twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook.   Additionally, working with their agency, the organization applied for and was thrilled to receive, a Google Grant as well as one for YouTube advertising.  They will be taking full advantage with a robust search engine marketing campaign in the near future once their campaign is approved by the search engine.  With the success of these new programs to date, a web site redesign is in the works to better highlight the organization’s mission and help their new web based audience engage with the brand and get involved.

Lu Esposito - Director of Marketing & Communications for the Triangle Red Cross Chapter

There is lots of talk of social media being the next big thing in business, but people need to learn how to harness this new marketing resource.
